I'm proud to announce I've just launched Graffletopia, a website that makes it easy to share OmniGraffle stencils.
Stencils are a cool part of OmniGraffle, but the list on the 'Extras' page always seemed a bit buried. Hopefully, by having a separate site for sharing stencils, it will be easier to find and share cool stencils.

Cheers,
Patrick

Unfortunately too many stencils have broken links - for example, I open http://graffletopia.com/stencils/29 and click on the Download link to download stencil, but new page opens (http://omnigroup.com/ftp/pub/software/MacOSX/Extras/OmniGraffle/MindMap.dmg) with the error message:
Not Found
The requested URL /ftp/pub/software/MacOSX/Extras/OmniGraffle/MindMap.dmg was not found on this server.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at omnigroup.com:80 Port 80
The same for Apple logo stencils (http://graffletopia.com/stencils/26) and Gardening stencils (http://graffletopia.com/stencils/23), and many more.
And so for almost every stencil I want to download...

Thanks for catching that bug, Guntis.
For some reason, links to files or pages on Omnigroup.com must have a www subdomain. When I tested these links earlier, everything seemed to work ok, but I guess it wasn't.
Anyway, it's all fixed now... so feel free to download as much as you want! :)
Best,
Patrick
You're not havng a good week, now just gives a Rails application error.

Arrrgh... so annoying.
Ruby on Rails is awesome, but hosting a Rails app can be tricky. Anyways, I apologize for the technical difficulties.
The site is back up now.

Hey, don't forget the rest of my maps... :)
Very bottom of the OG extras page...

Ah ha... I just discovered that you can add them yourself! Very nice. I'll upload them tomorrow once I get some screenshots.

Does anyone know how to make an alias that is relative (and that *stays* relative across systems)?
I'd like to include an alias to the OmniGraffle stencil folder on the disk images I am making for my maps. However, I don't want a reference to my hard drive (i.e. keep $HOME or ~ at the beginning so it will point to the user directory of whoever opens it...)
I've tried
> ln -s ~/Library/Application Support/OmniGraffle/Stencils
and
> ln -s $HOME/Library/Application Support/OmniGraffle/Stencils
Both make an alias, but it resolves both $HOME and ~ (i.e. the alias is a full path to MY OG folder even when on a different account or user).
1. Select desired folder in Home Directory
2. Command-L
3. There is no step 3
I've tested it across different machines and user accounts, it should point to ~/Library/Application Support/OmniGraffle/Stencils/ in a dynamic fashion.

Damn old-school UNIX. :)

No worries, johnny0.
I'll be adding lots more stencils over the next week or two -- probably another 20 or so. (To give each stencil the spotlight, I'm adding just one per day.)

Ahh, yes, dramatic uploading, I like it. :)
Actually, I've finished putting the stencils into disk images -- I'm just working on the background image on the .dmg and I can upload them. Hopefully will finish later this week.

happy to say that this is the week of maps over at Graffletopia!
Check out the RSS feed, very handy. (After, of course, you read the Omni Mouth...)

It sure is, Johnny.
We're adding four more maps through the rest of the week. Antarctica, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The Mindmapping stencil looks interesting. So far, so good: I've got it showing up in the stencil toolbar.
Now, how do I use it? Am I supposed to drag something off the stencil everytime I want to add another thought to the map? This seems very slow.
Also, where do I find the info from Matt Gemmell? It doesn't appear to be on either the Omni or Graffletopia sites.
