I love shortcuts, and I tend to create a lot of them, but the overhead tends to add up very quickly. Open Preferences, click on Shortcuts, add a new shortcut, copy and paste the information in there, etc.

A shortcut to create a new shortcut would make this process a lot easier. Press the shortcut when you're on a page and it will open up a dialog with the URL (and possible name from <title>) filled in. You just set your keyword, configure it for search if you want and go. Perhaps an option in the contextual menu for right-clicking on links, too.

You can't do this for search shortcuts but it is possible to add shortcuts via bookmarks. You can just type in your shortcut to the keyword field. That way you don't need to look at the shortcuts prefs for that.

Then you can use the status bar icon or context menu to create search shortcuts.

The only time you'll need to look at the preference pane is when you need to alter or remove a shortcut.

For the record, we do have some ideas on how to do this better in the future!

OK, but that's still not as fast as a real shortcut.

Do they happen to include a shortcut shortcut? :)
