I see many people in these forums requesting a way to mark task status as "Today". I personally think using a due date/time is fine and see no need to mark an item due as "Today" specifically. However, I am bothered by the way "Due" and "Due Soon" statuses behave.
"Due Soon" only shows items due within the timeframe specified as "Due Soon" in preferences — this makes perfect sense. But, to the best of my understanding, the "Due" status shows items which are due soon AND items which are overdue. Wouldn't it make more sense for the "Due" status to only show items that are currently due/overdue — not items that will be due in the near future? This would serve as a proper "Today" list, I think.
