Is it possible to link the Omniliner kGTD file to other Omnioutlines? It would be very useful to do a hyperlink type jump from the kGTD to other omnioutlines.
Yes, you can link to an OmniOutliner document from within an OO document. I use it a lot with kGTD, for example, linking to the outline of an article or presentation that I'm working on from the related kGTD Project.
First, don't use the attach button or command. "Attach" doesn't link to a file, it embeds a copy of the current file in your kGTD file, like a snapshot of the file, so that any change you make to 'attached' file in the future is not included.
To create a link to your active file is a little awkward but it works. You find the file you want to link to in a finder window, drag it to your outline and then engage the Control key before you drop the file into your outline. It will show an alias icon and the name of the file in a button.
In kGTD (v0.83) you want to put the link in a Note, not in the name of a task. Links (or URLs) in a kGTD task will damage the iCal database if you are syncing to iCal.
