I need to have a label that has Ā. I've searched all over the internet and can't figure it out. Does anyone know how to have a macron (or overline) over a letter?

All over the internet apparently didn't include Wikipedia :-)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Macrons
The procedure listed there worked for me just now with Mac OS X 10.6.8 and OmniGraphSketcher 1.2.2.

The A works but the Q doesn't, and I need a Q

You can put in a combining overline (unicode 0305, Q̅) if you use the Character Viewer. Turn it on with Languages & Text in System Preferences. You can similarly insert a combining macron (unicode 0304) with a suitable character, but Q does not seem to be a suitable character.

Go to System Preferences. Select the Language & Text section. Under the Help menu in the menu bar, enter "special characters" and choose the result called "Typing special characters and symbols". Instructions on how to show and use the Character Viewer are there. Your characters are in the Combining Diacritical Marks (Unicode 00000300) section if you view the Code Tables.
