View Full Version : Favicon Resizing issues

So far I have found two websites (http://macslash.org and http://forums.macnn.com/) whose favicon (site icon) is displayed incorrectly.
What happens is that if either it is bookmarked or in the history the favicon is too big and makes that row in the menu bigger. And the window title's icon becomes cropped and so you can only see a small part of the whole icon.
Thanks

I'm seeing this too, with http://www.bbc.co.uk/.

I get the problem with BBC and SP7.

I didn't check the others, but the BBC one is 32x32.
From what I've read, 32x32 is an acceptable size so it appears that OW is simply displaying the favicon at the original size, rather than resizing it.

I do believe you're right. In further examination, it looks like OmniWeb is fine with sites that have both a 32x32 and 16x16 version of their icon (for example, http://www.myrtleville.ca/), but not sites that have only a 32x32 icon (like the BBC).

Indeed. The same is true with Blacktree.com. I've noticed this particularly since it displays the fullsize icon in the favorites bar (in a folder).
