Check for new versions in preferences

Help file says the settings for this are in preferences. I've been to preferences and don't see any reference. How do you check or set up for new updates?

I suspect that you have the App Store version? If so, that version needs to update only through the App store.

I'm betting you're correct. Just to be sure I'm reasonably up to date. the version I have is 1.10.3
