Hi,

IMHO Omniweb should take advantage of the expertise on OS X/Mac and being a true native, single platform browser.

I am speaking about processor optimised versions in the future as optional downloads if it is impossible to package them to single .app or they would be huge.

Camino's unofficial G5 (PPC970) versions have created a huge impression on users and developers for example.

Did anyone at Omni try to compile a pure PPC970 or lets say SSE2/3 binary and see the difference it does?

Lately some hackers (in good meaning) have checked into the Apple DVD Playing framework and they found out that it uses less than 3% CPU on some machines because of heavy use of processor features.

Of course there is a chance that Omniweb already uses the processor features and this post is meaningless. Sorry if it is the case :)

If they aren't doing so already, is it worth their while for future releases?

Check the Hardware>CPU Subtype data.

Something seems wrong there. How can the Core Duo be at nearly 70% and the Core 2 Duo not even be on the chart?

Presumably the two are being identified as "Core Duo" and the data conflated.
