Outiner hangs on save.

I was dragging in 2 movie clips downloaded from WWDC.
They are of 3.2GB and 2.9GB. But I choose alias instead of copy so it shouldn't really matter.

But on saving the document, outliner just shows the spinning wheel and stops responding.

Please help.

Oh never mind. I found out that CTRL dragging the file was the correct way to link them. Aliasing still copies the files into the document? Whats the difference between an alias and a copy then?
