I am new to OG, I use it heavily for flowcharting and loads of diagrams, and I am very happy with OG, a diamond product.

I have a requirement to produce some scale drawings (representations) of roof areas for solar thermal and solar PV plans - for planning permission applications.

Firstly can I do this in OG, if yes, what working method would you suggest to me, to avoid any grief?

Cheers
Sid

A few tips (not an authoritative answer):

Turn on rulers. (in the toolbar or command-R)
The ruler will appear just below the toolbar. On the right there's a drop-down labeled "Ruler scale". Pick something appropriate for your work (1 in = 1 ft maybe?) or type in your own.

Also, check out the Variables stencil -- it includes a couple options for automagically labelling shapes with their dimensions.

Ruler scale appears to be a Pro feature.

Looks like I will be buying Pro. :)

Thanks for the help.

A secondary set of questions,
1) is it possible to keep OG in metric mode?
2) Can I make a stencil with items that are a fixed size (that cannot be changed) - I want to layout fixed size items in a fixed size space.

TIA

1) You can define a default template that uses metric ruler units, so, yes.
2) Can't make shapes with locked dimensions or fixed sizes, but we get this request every so often.

Webdesign Scaled 1px = 1px wireframe.

For an A4 Portrait paper set a 50%, and a Ruler scale set 1 pt = 1 px, i have to zoom to 200 % to see the exact same resolution 1:1 than my brower.

Is this correct ? Can't i print a 1000 px width wireframe constrained to fit inside the width of an A4 vertical ?

many thanks.
