View Full Version : Unofficial Broken Site List

I figured it would be a good idea to have a place where us testers can come and report to each-other on what sites we find as being consistently broken with the latest Sneaky Peek. This is not to say that this should be a replacement for bug reports, but I know that I would find it helpful to know that others were experiencing the same problems as I am. Maybe we can even come up with some solutions!
Sites I have noticed are broken:
http://www.meebo.com - Enter sends a carriage return instead of sending the message. Unable to collapse contact list groups.

I assume you tried that site in WebKit as well?

this's WebKit's top 10 sites "...needing compatibility work." Something similar from that side of the equation, and perhaps interesting to cross-reference when noting sites that don't work.

But in SP3 I can't proceed to the page that lists the output after choosing a category and clicking "next"

I suppose it could be a bug in the latest webkit version.

The ATI Technologies site (http://www.atitech.com/) has drop-down menus in the navbar. These menus work fine with OmniWeb 5.1.3 and Safari 2.0.3.
However, the menus are broken with OmniWeb 5.5sp3, WebKit r12177 and WebKit r13648 -- mousing over a menu name causes the menu to appear, but the menu disappears as soon as the mouse leaves the name to make a selection.
Changing browser identification to Safari 2.0.3 doesn't help.

This site puts SP5 into a major slowdown. SBB after SBB. It seems to work fine in Safari and webkit. I do have adblocking turned on in SP5.
Anyone else experience issues with it?

Here's another one: http://www.ideas.live.com/whatis.aspx
Click on "Windows Live Ideas" in the last paragraph. Gives me a SBB.
https://www.fidelityaccountview.com/av/seriousstewardship/
I can get to the site, but it doesn't display any of my account info
It works in Camino and Firefox, but not in OW, Safari, Shiira, or the latest version of WebKit

Not so much broken, just extremely slow to load...
http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/tv/static/SydneyNight.html
It loads in <2sec on WebKit 13302 but on OmniWeb 5.5sp6 it takes over a minute (each time slot box takes several seconds to display). On OmniWeb 5.1.3 it loads quickly, but the program details display as gibberish.

This page: (need an account)
http://www.okcupid.com/who?nearest=1&sort=1
does not show the online IM buttons, nor do the "+" links work, which the url is:

Here is a screenshot of OW 5.5 SP 7 on the left, and Safari 2.0.3 on the right.

Do you have ad blocking turned on? The buttons could be hosted on a different server, and that pref be blocking them.
Do the + links work in the corresponding version of webkit?

For me there's only the notice in the center of the page, the shop will be loaded. But that's all. Nothing more will happen. I've been waiting for several minutes too, but without any changes.

The Rating Stars on Netflix.com are broken in both SP9 and Webkit r13302. They function correctly under Safari 2.0.3 (417.9.2), however.
Sorry, I don't know of any non-subscription sites that I can replicate this on.

That's okay, you just gave them a reason to get a netflix account "for business purposes."

There is a known issue right now where all link colors are derived from the page appearance preferences. What you can do to work around this problem is to open up the Site Preferences for http://dpreview.com and in the Appearance pane, select link colors that will be easier to read. Sorry for the inconvenience.

this pages takes forever to display in sp9, and when it does, it does not display correctly, even if I spoof FF 1.501 Windows.
FF does render it correctly, as does the factory version of Safari.

OW beachballed on this article on Digg, http://digg.com/hardware/A_MacBook_Pro_is_%241400_more_than_an_identical_De ll_Inspiron
Camino, after 20 seconds or so of beachballing, gave me the option to axe the script as it has become "unresponsive"
Very slick error check and much better than OW going dead.

You know, that is an idea for a common issue I find in OW. Some people have referred to it as the stop button not working. Generally what happens is some script or something is running and causing OW to slow way down or beachball. It would be nice if OW offered a pref for how long it would spend trying to figure something out before it prompted a similar dialog. The options would be Continue, Stop, and Go to Previous Page.

It doesn't actually go dead, it just consumes 100% of the CPU for awhile then returns to normal.
It's due to a problem in WebKit:

We pay the Wisconsin sales tax online and it is telling me that I do not have javascript and/or cookies enable for this site: http://www.salestax.dor.state.wi.us even though I checked and they are enabled in OW SP11.
Safari works fine there.

Interestingly, if I quit OW and try and access the site it works once or twice. Then I get the same error again.
When trying to reserve rooms on the Red Roof Inn site
http://www.redroof.com/
the Submit button is not drawn at all on the page in sp11. The button is drawn properly in Safari and Webkit.

I originally posted this in its own thread -- sorry, I was unaware there was a thread already for this:
Go to http://ps2.ign.com (the direct link to the problem page is below)
Visit the "guides" section in the left nav. Note: you might need to be a member for some guides, so you'll need to sign up.
On the guides list, I clicked "The Godfather", or just go to http://guides.ign.com/guides/665843/
Click the "walkthrough" link (which is http://guides.ign.com/guides/665843/page_4.html )
You get a "sorry, page not found" page.
When I try this same scenario in Webkit, I get the correct page every time. Same for FF 1.5.
I've tried a few of the guides, and ALL the walkthrough links I've tried so far are broken the same way, but all work in Webkit or FF.

PostNuke Forum (http://community.postnuke.com/module-Forum-viewforum-forum-13.htm) (registration required).
You can easily enough enter and read on the forum, but if you attempt to post, preview a post, or edit your prior posts -> you cannot get past the AJAX - JSON error message.
Works in FF 1.5.0.3, Safari Version 2.0.3 (417.9.3), Netscape and even (sigh) IE 5.2.
Does not work in OW 5.1.3.

I am having problems with Arstechnica forums. Its fine until I sign in. After that, it loads blank pages. The only way to get it back is to trash the cookies. Anyone else with this issue?
