I’ve been having this problem with the last few builds too. I've just let OmniFocus sit there, unresponsive; after a few minutes it finishes doing whatever it is and returns to its good-natured self.

If you can reproduce this and can send preferences and the app support directory to omnifocus-crash@omnigroup.com I'll take a look.

You might also try doing a Rebuild (under File) to optimize your database to see if that's any help (sounds like not, but just in case).
