Confused by iCal functionality

I can't, for the life of me, get any task into iCal. I create the project and task, then go to OF preferences and drag the associated context into the calendar I want to display the task. Nothing. ???

I should add that when I happened to check my other Mac (sync'ed via .mac) ALL of my OF tasks were on the calendar.

I am assuming, but worth the check... after going over the preferences calendar mapping, did you run 'synchcronization with iCal (cmd+opt+S)'?

Yes - I get the cool cricket noise but no data moves. As I mentioned, I happened to be on my other Mac at home, and .mac sync had run recently; all the items were on THAT calendar.
