I just installed the latest version (v63.0.96036) and it is now showing both date and times in my start and due columns. Too much visual clutter for me! Is there a way to go back to just having it show the dates?

yeap. too much information.
(and too large for my macbookpro)

(the very simple & lame approach would be to not wrap the lines for the date columns. we could then just resize them to crop the time if wanted...)

but I also think it's too much to enter. I usually don't care about a due hour, and I want to be able to leave that blank, not having it default to 11:59PM. It could still be 11:59 internally, but not show up if it wasn't manually entered.
even in the Inspector.

Yes. PLEASE make it possible to remove this. Each entry now takes 3 LINES instead of 1. I can't deal with this. I REALLY need the option to NOT show the time, and only show the date.

PLEASE!!!

In my opinion, this is an issue beyond the the display aspect. The fact that there is a time by default bother me, because by the time I open my OF in the morning I get about 25 things that are overdue, and thus it provides very little value as an informative tool.

I guess that if I entered a specific time for each, it would make sense, but that is way too much effort.

I would like for the time to be optional and be disabled by default. Unless I am missing something on how to use it...

Thanks.

I can only emphasize what others have already said. If a specific time is to be viewed at least it should be optional. OmniFocus has instantly gone from good and simple viewing to downright ugly and cluttered. Are there some MS germs migrating over to the new office?

Yeah, I can't the Due Hour. Totally ugly - totally overkill. They have to make it at least configurable.

OMG - make the Due Hour GO AWAY!

ditto.

an option would be great.

Posters - you need to relax and let Omni Build this application. Don't flip out over incremental work in progress.

Omniplan displays start/due dates the same way and has a "granularity" setting to show only the date. So I would expect the final version will have a similar setting.

hmm... did those make it into a build? I'll remove them when I'm near the code again.

I think it would be great if the display considered the column width, like in Mail. If I make the column wide it would show the time. If I make it narrower it would show the date. Narrower still, it might just show month and day. That would allow me to use wide date columns in a couple of my planning perspectives without wasting real estate in other perspectives.

That said, just going back to the old date-only display would be better than it is at the moment.

I agree, and hope to get it in eventually. I also want to have "Today/Tomorrow" like mail does as well.

From my personal perspective I was thrilled with the addition of ‘time due’ along with the date due on the build yesterday. And today I wasted valuable time trying to find a way to get those ‘time start’ and ‘time due’ elements back.

When I can integrate scheduled meetings throughout the day into my other project associated tasks it really helps me better plan my activities on a particular day, week or month.

I appreciate the opinion of those who have posted your personal dislike of ‘time due’ or ‘time start’ being added.

I personally would favor an option in the menu that would allow this feature to be turned off and on.

I encourage the development team to continue to pursue a robust OF--that is an OF that meets the needs of a larger and varied work environment. In the end OF will be much a better product for a much larger group.

Can anyone briefly explain how the time actually works and how you are using it? I quite don't get it... Thanks.

Hello. I met the same trouble with 96068. But when
I updated to 96125, the time disappeared from the display.

But it seems that the time value is still alive internally,
because the task due 2007/12/15 00:00 is displayed as
due 2007/12/14 in iCal.

You can always look in the inspector to see the time as well as the date.

Dear xmas,

Thank you.

You can always look in the inspector to see the time as well as the date.

I was surprised that today's 00:00 in OmniFocus is interpreted as yesterday by iCal. When I changed the date of the task to 2007/12/15 (today) in iCal, it appears 2007/12/15 21:00 in OmniFocus. Is it correct?

There's a long thread on this elsewhere in the forum. Essentially the problem is a bug in iCal for those living east of GMT.

Dear curt.clifton,

Thank you. Now I have found and read that thread (http://forums.omnigroup.com/showthread.php?t=5744).
