Viewed pages reloading automatically: any way to prevent that?

Recently I noticed on one particular site (Minneapolis Star-Tribune), viewed pages will reload and show up as unread (BTW, this is one feature I love about OW's tabs). Very annoying. With site preferences, is there any way to prevent this from happening? Turn off some Java settings, perhaps?
