Hi all,

For some reason I am not able to figure out where you create a WBS in Omniplan.

Export to HTML task list is nifty, but I am looking for a way to do export or display a simple WBS.

Thanks!

You can switch between flat numbering and WBS by going to "View" > "Use Hierarchical Numbering". Once this is set, exporting to PDF or the HTML task list will use the new numbering scheme.

If you're looking for a WBS diagram, with boxes and connecting lines, you'll need to export to OmniGraffle (choose "Work Breakdown Structure" for the Diagram Type). If you download OmniGraffle, you can view the WBS in OmniGraffle without a Graffle license, but you can't export to a standard image format (such as PDF or jpeg) without a license.

I suppose you could open it in OmniGraffle and then take a screenshot of the diagram (shift-command-4?) to give you an image.

What I am looking for is simply a way to export a WBS to an editable text file or spreadsheet...

I have the tasklist, but want it exported to for example Numbers in an easy to read WBS format, such as.

1. Task
1.1 Subtask
1.2 Subtask
1.3 Subtask
2. Task 2
2.1 Subtask
2.1.1 Sub-Sub task
2.2 Subtask
2.2.1 Sub-sub task
2.2.1.1 Sub sub sub task

etc

So yes, you want to turn on the hierarchical numbering, as akwong mentioned. Then export as CSV to get the format best suited for use with Numbers.

Great! Exactly what I needed.

Gracias :)
