ok guys, waiting time is almost over.
Lets then vote for the day we believe the app will be released on the app store.

Rules :
1) Only get to choose one day
2) Date is the release date of the app on the app store, not Eastern or European time

Omni should give a free license of A mac product of theirs to one winner after a draw ...

Suspecting the folks at Apple have relationships and great love for Omnifocus themselves (as well as their strong financial incentive based on my suspected $49.99 price tag), I am going with Tuesday the 27th.

They know the quality coming out of Omni. This isn't some crappy $.99 app.

I won't hazard a guess on the date. However, I HAVE to believe that the Apple folks, having dealt with Omni in the past and having seen the consistency in the quality of their apps, along with their popularity and wide-spread appeal.....won't have issues with the group's "integrity" or problems with assurance that Omni is putting forth a more than decent product...thus "shortening" the time considerably (I hope, I pray, I hope!!)

Can I change my mind and say ... TODAY !!!

Fun aside, I find myself pressing refresh on the app store every 10 minutes ...

Surely a reputable, well-known software developer like Omni gets priority treatment at Apple? I guess Sunday July 25! :)

Absolutely untrue. Apple does, in fact, give preference to better-known developers and better-known apps.

I get dramatically different turn-around times with my more complex apps that sell well than I do with my simple app that is only a single button, but isn't a big seller.

I would be willing to bet that OmniGroup gets special treatment by Apple -- and they should since it is well known how seriously they approach QA prior to submission.

They might give preference, but this app is going to be tested backwards and forwards and they outsource the test (IIRC) so we shall see.

Anything earlier than next Friday, I will be happy...

Not special enough. The app isn't on the store yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if only a minority of people in the review process are even aware of who OmniGroup is.

This does make me wonder, how do they triage apps, and how different is the review process for different apps? I mean, anybody doing a review who used to be a NeXT user will know right away that OmniGroup is somebody quite trusted. But I can't imagine that the review process starts by having some smart, knowledgeable guy at Apple who decides on priorities. Do they look at sales? Do they look at previous rejections? I don't know.

All I know is I want it now. I'm going to go off and start doing some to-do tasks rather than pretending that OF on my iPad will actually do my tasks for me. :)

I am still waiting for Omni to release the app for that!

What if Christmas were like this? Santa will probably arrive sometime in December, dependent on toy approval by elf QA, which varies from year to year. :):)

The routine is...check the app store..look through "what's new", then "what's hot", then "release date", then "productivity category", THEN search "Omnifocus", see the nasty blank iPad area, then head to the web site. I could shorten the whole process with a direct link but this way keeps my "anticipation" level at "excited" for just a little bit longer... :o

Alas, it looks like the 27th has come and gone with no relief in sight. BZ, I submit; you're guess of the 30th may turn out to be true, even if sad.

Where do the approval reviews take place? It's only 1pm out here in the Western US...

I have noticed that the bulk of apps are released in the wee hours of the morning, european time, so evening to night US time.

Therefore we still have some time for the 27th. Don't write it off just yet.

Definitely torture. I'm discovering that not knowing the app has been submitted is probably in my best interest. I'm on vacation this week which makes it worse. I don't even have work to occupy my daytime hours. I'm checking for updates way too much. I think I need to use Ken's MIB memory wiper to forget the app was ever submitted.

Here's to hoping there will be a pleasant surprise waiting for us in the App Store tomorrow morning.

Reminds me of a time that a UPS next day delivery hadn't gotten a departure scan by 5:55 pm. I called UPS, and they wouldn't do anything. There was still 5 minutes left till it was late.

I am supposed to be without my iPad wifi connection for about 5 hours today. According to the Theremin corollary of Murphy's law, if OmniFocus for iPad can be released in the App Store while you are unable to access the Internet then it will. At least I will be able to use my iPhone to obsessively check the forums for status. If it happens and I can't download the app right away I guess I'll just download the screenshots to my camera roll and use my imagination.

I saw this crying Maria in my dreams last night. She told me that OF will come to us the coming workday at 9 o'clock in the morning. So that would be this Thursday July 29th! I'm so happy :')

So Ken, wake up! :D THE day has begun.
