Paste multiple text boxes at once

hi folks,

I have a text file with many lines and I'd like each one to be a separate text box in my OmniGraffle document. If I copy that text and paste it onto a canvas, I get one big textbox with newlines in it.

Is there a command to split a text box by some character (e.g. newline)?

Is there a way I can make a textbox for each line directly?

Is there a way to work with the text of a canvas directly, like outline mode in PowerPoint?

thanks for any pointers,
Turadg

Probably the easiest thing to do is to fire up OmniOutliner, paste the rows in there, being sure to click on a row handle before pasting. This will get you a document with one OmniOutliner row per line on the clipboard. Now you can either copy and paste into the outline view in OmniGraffle, or save and open the OmniOutliner file in OmniGraffle.

For some reason, OmniGraffle doesn't seem to follow the convention used by other Omni apps that pasting after selecting an entire row gets you multiple rows instead of a single multi-line row.

Thanks whpalmer4. I ended up writing Omni support and that's what they said too. If you think this should be in OmniGraffle you might want to let them know:
