GMail with attachment tanks

Desc: After attaching a document to a GMail message, and clicking "Send", OW crashes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Type an e-mail.
2. Attach a document (say, a MS Word file), wait for GMail to upload it.
3. Type in recipient, click Send
4. OW Crashes.

Occurence:
Always

System:
10.4.7

PS. BTW, I always thought it would be impossible to embed a WYSIWYG text editing "widget" into WebKit, because of "Contenteditable" limitations. Seeing this on this forum, the top formatting bar a la TinyMCE, gives me hope. Good job!

I wonder if it's related to this problem that I started experiencing with sp16

Now word from anybody on this yet.

Musti--

Are you trying this with the same file each time? What happens if you test this with a different attachment? I just tested this with an html file on my desktop and it sent just fine.

Troy, it happens with .txt and .doc files. Let me try with diffferent formats and report back.

OK. Happens with pretty much everything...PDF, HTML, DOC, TXT...

Here's what I get on crash log:

I don't think this crash log is related to your problem...

This crash log looks like what happens if you try to run OmniWeb without our specific WebKit frameworks--this crash would only happen on launch, not later.

When OmniWeb crashes, which crash reporter do you get? Apple's or OmniGroup Crash Catcher?

philonous 2006-07-05 11:16 AM

I just reproduced the problem. I went to my gmail account, chose a 140 KB zip file that was on my desktop, and clicked send. SP16 crashed. I don't have SMTP access at the moment, but you will get the crash report when I get home.

OW is spoofing as FF 1.5.1 with google.

I think this is related to the POSIX error that I normally get when I try to upload a file in a normal php page (see the citation in my post above).

Apple's did not show up.
Here's Omni's:

Thread 6 crashed.

Yes, OW in Network Activity was complaining about bad POSIX request just before crash.*

Does the crash continue if you set aside your preferences?

1.) Quit OmniWeb
2.) in finder go to <~/Library/Preferences/> and move the file "com.omnigroup.OmniWeb5" to your desktop or somewhere safe.
3.) Now restart OmniWeb.

Yes, it still happens with sp17. And, according to the error log, the error that happens with gmail is the same one that happens with wordpress (or any other web upload interface).

Here is the output from the error log:
