It is a bug, not a cryptic error signal.
We're actually really puzzled by this particular bug. It's only showing up on a couple of our computers here.

If you're seeing this issue, please tell us (here or in an email):
1) What type of Mac you have (eg 2011 Macbook Air)
2) What graphics card you have in it
3) Do you have Xcode installed?
I see this on my 2010 Mac Pro with ATI 5780 graphics card. I also see it on my 2011 MacBook Pro (ATI graphics).

It happens with and without ATI graphics installed. I've never _not_ seen this bug.

Thanks all for your replies. That helps me see that there's too much variety in what machines are experiencing this problem for it to likely be hardware-specific. We'll keep hunting it down here, and sorry for the nuisance.

Just FYI this log spew is generated when synching:

8/7/12 2:07:00.498 PM OmniFocus[36901]: CGContextConcatCTM: invalid context 0x0
8/7/12 2:07:00.498 PM OmniFocus[36901]: It does not make sense to draw an image when [NSGraphicsContext currentContext] is nil. This is a programming error. Break on void _NSWarnForDrawingImageWithNoCurrentContext() to debug. This will be logged only once. This may break in the future.
8/7/12 2:07:00.512 PM OmniFocus[36901]: CGContextConcatCTM: invalid context 0x0
8/7/12 2:07:00.979 PM OmniFocus[36901]: CGContextConcatCTM: invalid context 0x0

Certainly looks like that second line indicates the bug.

Thanks CatOne. We've been working with that. We finally found a machine in-house that reliably blinks, so hopefully we can pin this issue down soon.
