mouseover effect does not work

The navigation options do not drop down from the navbar as they should.

I assume you mean the navbar at the top (News, Politics, Opinions, etc.)? They work on mine, 5.6 final.

Yes, but when you put your mouse over "politics" or "opinion", a sub-menu is supposed to appear. Do you get the submenu, or just the highlight effect?

I get the submenus in safari 3.
