OmniPlan and Dropbox
It seems that every single software forum has a question about Dropbox, so I was surprised to not find a single one here!
Until now. I just picked up OmniPlan, and was wondering if I can use Dropbox to keep my files in sync between my laptop and Mac Pro. Are there any issues or considerations I should be aware of? Thanks! |
As long as you don't edit the same file simultaneously on more than one machine, you shouldn't have any issues with Dropbox and OmniPlan documents. I think if you do change the same file in two places, Dropbox will catch that and bring it to your attention for resolution, but it would (potentially) be a pain to extract your non-trivial changes from one file and apply them to the other, and I wouldn't care to promise that it would always notice this problem.

Thanks for the reply. I'm the only person using the software, but I'll be extra careful not to have the same file open on both computers.

I use Dropbox to keep my OmniPlan files in sync, and it works great! As mentioned above, beware of editing the same file in two places at once.
