Audio Recording Causing Crash

After some time recording audio into my OO file the application quits and the recording is lost. I'm finding myself stopping and starting the recordings every 5 minutes or so and manually saving to prevent this from happening.

Anyone else sharing this particular pain? :-(

Have you recorded audio before version 3.10.5 without problems? If so, what mic are you using for recording?

3.10.5 fixed an issue with audio recording having a mismatched sample rate for mics that record at a sample rate higher than a 48k, such as the past couple generations of MacBooks and iMacs. Recording with these mics was not possible before as the mismatched sample rate resulted in really slow playback. The higher sample rate means system memory is more quickly consumed. Having to restart recordings every 5 mins seems extreme though.

One good thing to be aware of, is that the audio recording is frequently saved to disk to a temporary file while recording is happening. If it crashes, you should only lose a few seconds of the recording. You can view or change the location of the temp file in the Sound Capture tab of the OmniOutliner Preferences.

We've just released sneaky peeks of 3.10.6 which we're hoping fixes the crashes with audio recording some people have been encountering. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks!
