OmniFocus crashes whenever I try to print...
I've never been able to print from within OmniFocus and since I've been a beta user for the past few months just assumed that this was a problem that would be resolved with the release version (it wasn't). So I'm hoping that somebody can help.
The problem occurs whenever I try to print from within the application. The result is always the same, after a brief pause the application quits with no other clues as to the cause. I've rebuilt the database to see if that helped and it didn't. After the crash I can re-open OmniFocus without further problems. I'm running the latest versions of Mac OS and all software and have no other problems printing within any other applications. Thanks! |
Do you mean that you aren't even getting CrashCatcher launching? Are there any crash logs in Console for printing and/or OmniFocus?

Console log during crashes
Below is the Console log that occurs when I try to print from OmniFocus. Note: I also have several other programs open simultaneously but don't really know what any of this means...
Please let me know if you can help. I personally don't have the knowledge to help properly here, but there seem to be a lot of error messages related to LogMeIn prior to the crash, and an issue loading HP software as well. The first might not be related although it too Exited with exit code: 1 earlier on in the log, the same way that OmniFocus does near the end, so try disabling or uninstalling that software to see if it is the cause of the problem. The second issue might possibly be corrected by re-installing the HP printer drivers from the install discs that came with your system (alternatively, does HP have any newer ones for the model printer you have?).

rmburke: Please send an email to our ninjas (omnifocus@omnigroup.com) with this console log and any other details you can remember. For example, does the app just disappear, or does it freeze and your mouse arrow turn into a spinning beachball? Does CrashCatcher (a helper app with a bomb icon) ever appear in your dock during this?

In particular, the HP Supplies Tool in /Library/Printers/hp is trying to access the HP device model framework in /Library/Frameworks and can't find it. (Perhaps /Library/Frameworks was removed but /Library/Printers/hp wasn't? Or /Library/Frameworks/hp was restored and the corresponding code in /Library/Frameworks wasn't?) You'll probably need to reinstall your printer drivers to resolve this. It would still be a good idea to let our support ninjas (omnifocus@omnigroup.com) know what's going on so we can try to track this and help others who end up in a similar situation. |
Definitely email our ninjas, because even if the HP drivers are missing, it'd be nice for OmniFocus to show an error message instead of crashing entirely.
