How to set up a multi-page poster for printing

I need to prepare a multi-page poster (28 x 11") on a 8.5x11" printer, using multiple sheets.

How do I go about doing this? What to set for canvast size? page setup? print dialog? Can I also save it as multiple PDF pages?

I think I got it working with multi-page canvas size. Curiously, searching Help did not yield anything aroud multi-page.
