Block unsolicited JavaScript Alerts?
 

I just came from helping an OmniWeb user who didn't know how to deal with a popup "Alert" warning about online privacy and credit card history. It turned out to be a sleazy ad for DriveCleaner appearing in a JavaScript Alert. The page came from a suspect "free home page" (www.homepagez.com).

After reassuring the user that her Mac was OK, I went looking for a way to block an unsolicited JavaScript Alert. All I found was the ability to block a popup browser window.

When the opened the problem page in Firefox, it reported it had blocked the JavaScript Alert.
