Auto update?
 

Each time there is a new version we need to go to the download page, download the app and then copy the app to the application folder. Why do we have to jump through all these hoops?

I noticed that there is a shell script that can take do some of the work, but couldn't OmniFocus use something like [URL="http://sparkle.andymatuschak.org/"]Sparkle[/URL] to automatically ask us if we want to update and perform the necessary steps for us?

Because you volunteered to serve as an alpha tester.

This has been discussed extensively in another thread. With the general conclusion that something like that would be great to have eventually.

I am fully aware that I volunteered to serve as an alpha tester. I was just trying to understand if there was any reasons not to use an automated way to update the application. I guess I should have asked that exact question!

I was not aware of the thread. I will go an look for it and read the information. Sorry for raising an already discussed issue.
