Straight Lines? Argggg
 

Could someone please explain how you draw a straight line in OG (Mac) that doesn't connect to any other objects on the canvas (without creating it on a new layer)? According to this [URL="http://forums.omnigroup.com/showthread.php?t=18472&highlight=straight+line"]post[/URL], if you select the Line tool and hold down both the Shift and Alt/Option keys while clicking once where the line should start and once again where it should end, you'll get your line. However, when I do it, I do get a line but then a second line appears at the endpoint and connects to another object. This is incredibly frustrating. :(

I've answered my own question. You have do it the way I described it above but you have to be sure to click the "Enable or disable connections" (magnet) button to disable connections.

You double-click to make the final point of your line...each single click just establishes another midpoint.
