New project from a task using the keyboard?
I'm just getting back into OmniFocus after having not done GTD for a while. Last time I used it, I could have sworn there was a way to turn an item in the inbox into a project using the keyboard. I know you can drag it to the sidebar, but a keyboard alternate would be great too. I've looked through the manual and the forums, but I might have missed something. Is there one?

You can indent an item under it. The parent becomes a project and the child becomes the next action. Command + ] = indent

Or you can select the item and outdent it, which will promote it to a project and place it at the bottom of your sidebar.

Steve[/QUOTE] I like the feature, and use it all the time now, but it can be more than a little surprising when you do it by mistake, don't know about the behavior, and have no clue where that big chunk of stuff you had in front of a second ago went! You can probably deduce how I discovered the feature. Fortunately, in this case, OmniFocus implements the first rule of intelligent tinkering (save all the parts!) for us :-) |
