Nozbe.com for GTD?
 

Folks, has anyone here used [url]http://www.nozbe.com/[/url] for online GTD? It looks interesting; haven't really given it a shot yet, thought.

What's particularly interesting is that they have an API <http://www.nozbe.com/page/api>, so it's possible OF could integrate with them.

Interesting idea. Now, if only Omni, Google, or 37Signals would buy it, redesign it, and make it attractive. :-)

Jasong, I had no idea that the API offering from iNozbe meant a potential opportunity for OF integration. Wow, that would be killer! OF ported into Nozbe!!! Even if it took a little applet to sync them (like Spanning Sync, which synchronizes iCal with Google Calendar), I would pay money in a heartbeat to buy such a syncing program.

Programmers, start your coding! My credit card is ready. :-)

soundsgoodtome--excellent idea about someone buying iNozbe. I think to get this whole thing right, the app needs to have a triple presence: (1) run locally on a computer, (2) sync to a web based component of it with your database stored online, (3) be available to a portable device like the iPhone in a stripped down version. I can't leave my MBP running at home to access it through the internet from my iPhone, so that wasn't an option for me. The web-based apps do have an advantage.

Yeah, I've been using iNozbe for months. Great program. Beautiful interface on the iPhone. Used it exclusively in the beginning when I bought my iPhone the day it came out. But then I bought a MBP and "graduated" to iGTD and then OF.

It helps to sign up for one of their paid options--that way you get custom contexts and a lot more projects. They're fairly responsive to tech questions by email. About a day. Maybe quicker if you use the Ask Michael feature on the paid options (never tried it, so I don't know).

It actually even works fairly fast on EDGE. On wi-fi, it's truly great. Then of course when you're at a computer you get the program with an even better interface at lightning fast speed from your broadband.

On the iPhone interface I think one or two features are unavailable.

Overall, the UI is nowhere near as elegant and powerful as OF. And of course it doesn't nearly have the multitude of features and architectural depth.

I've found it's really good for errands.

It's really annoying, though, to not have my database accessible when I'm out of range (like in the subway).

In the PC world, there are programs like Natara's Bonsai, which you can run on a Palm, and therefore are always available because they run locally. It does PIM really well, and has such a powerful to-do implementation that it works pretty well for single projects.

Yeah, Nozbe is definitely a contender in this niche. But already competitors are emerging to eat away at their market share (can't remember the names, but I think they're on that new master list of web apps that Apple put up--which list, ironically, Apple did not format for iPhone viewing!).

By now, most folks have probably heard that Apple's releasing an SDK for the iPhone in February. I realize not everyone has (or will have) an iPhone, but it's still exciting news.

Of course, that's a few months off, then additional time will be required to get apps ready for release, but I certainly hope the OmniFolk are considering the possibility of an iPhone version. Personally, I'd be happy to pay an additional fee for the iPhone version. YMMV. :-)
