how to trust self signed certificates

Hello everyone,

I really like the syncing feature an so i have set up a webdav service on my server. For security reasons I made it available via ssl. On the mac no problem, open it one time via a browser and trust the certificate. But how can I trust the certificate on my mobile device? I can add it and it shows up in the settings/general/profile menu, but I cannot trust it..
Is there a way to do it?

I hope so.

best,
Fabian

I hit the same problem.

I doubt you can force OFI to trust your own cert, I suspect it requires a program bug fix. Other applications, including Mail and Safari, explicitly allow accepting untrusted certs.

Given the alpha status of the desktop program and specific sync bugs I have seen in my limited testing, I suspect sync testing was incomplete at best.

Hitting the same problem. I'd really appreciate it if we could get a "trust my crappy cert" button somewhere. Thanks so much guys! Love your products!

+1

The behavior that MobileMail has would be perfect. It asks about the cert the first time and then doesn't again IIRC.

I posted about this in another thread, and Ken said it'd be fixed in an update:

I don't love products which don't handle basic functionality like private certs.
