Sticky Note module on Google personalized start page
OmniWeb has a bit of a layout problem with the "sticky note" module which is added to new google personalized pages by default.
The source of the sticky note module can be found here: http://www.google.com/ig/modules/sticky.xml In Firefox, the module displays correctly -- regardless of how much content is added to the sticky note the box keeps growing w/o scrollbars. In OmniWeb it creates a scrollbar instead of expanding vertically and also draws an unsightly box around the sticky note. |
How does one add a sticky to their homepage?

Click on the "Add Stuff" link in the upper-right of the page, then search for "sticky note", then click the "Add it now" button under Sticky Note.

It looks like the issue is caused by the zoomed text editor. It's a form field and in order for the field to have area for the zoomed text editor button, it then forces a scrollbar. Note the amount to be scrolled is equal to the size of the text editor button.
Note that Safari also puts a box around it, so that would appear to be a WebKit issue. |
Anyway to turn off the "zoomed text editor" so it can look normal? I looked through the preferences and didn't see anything...
Thanks |
Actually this is due to the old style of text field that OmniWeb uses. We will be moving to a newer version of WebKit our rendering engine that will have stylable text fields and this should look more like firefox does.

Excellent! I confirmed that it looks normal using the nightly build of WebKit. Thanks
