View Backup Without Restoring? [A: Double-click; opens in separate window.]

Is it possible to view the contents of an OmniFocus backup file without actually restoring it? The reason I ask is that I use and synch OF between three computers. Over time I'm finding that all of the sub-actions within some of my actions in some projects are disappearing (I didn't delete them). The parent action still shows the triangle on the left that indicates there are (supposedly) actions within it but when I click on the triangle, all of that action's sub-actions are gone. Since I keep all my project information in OF, this is very distressing. Can I look in my older backups to see if I can recover these missing sub-actions?

Thanks.

Double-click on the backup file in the Finder. OmniFocus will open it in another window, and you can drag and drop stuff from the backup into the live database, if you wish.

Are you sure the missing actions haven't been completed and thus hidden from default view? I would take a look in the All Items perspective. It has been quite a long time since I have seen OmniFocus lose data during a sync, excepting user error.

Yup! Just double-click the backup in the Finder. It'll open up in a new window; doesn't touch any of your existing info in the "real" database. Hope that helps!
