AS - importer for MLO (mylifeorganized)
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
as announced in this post, I was working on an import solution for mylifeorganized into omnifocus. I now more or less proudly present an import script for that purpose. The performance is definitely a todo item. (1300 task-lines in xml take approx. 10 to 15 minutes) import features: - dates - notes - structure - flagged (in case either urgency or importance > 100) - goal (week/month/year) => sets due date to end of week / month / year open: - use existing contexts in omnifocus - use estimated time bye Udo |

Hi, your script is exactly what i was looking for. I'm new to scripts though and wondering the steps i'm meant to take to use it;
1. export entrie outline of mlo to ".xml" 2. run your script with the exported mlo.xml Two issues though; 1. Midway through running the script, I get the error can't get folder "inbox_mlo" of defaulot document - 1728 2. Once finished, it says "export transfer completed" but i can't find the transfered data anywhere in omnifocus. Am i missing something? Thanks |
Hi Johnjj,
I'm running into the same problem kih305 did. If you get a chance, would you mind letting us know what you think the problem is? |
Hi,
you just need to create a folder "inbox_mlo" in the library folder (upmost level) Then the script can add all the projects/actions into this folder. That should be it. Udo |
Still works?
Has anyone used this recently? I am on MLO 3.x Standard and want to try moving over to Omnifocus.. I see this thread is from last year tho...

Sync between MyLifeOrganized and OmniFocus
It would be absolutely brilliant if we could turn this into sync between the two apps.

hi.
it's been a while I checked the forum, but really like to see the interest in the script. To answer to the latest post - the performance of apple script is really a pain. Since I'm now using my business laptop more and more I'm using MLO most of the time and keep business and private projects seperate. technical wise: MLO has some other information in it's xml-file then OF has. To keep the sync the a solution would be to add that to the notes field in OF. But it would be just a hack. let me know if there is someone who has interest in working on that too. regards Udo |
