Please help an iGTD veteran

Hi Gang,

I've been using iGTD for sometime now and grown quite adept at it. I now have about 300 tasks in iGTD and using quicksilver I can input tasks FAST and using its filter and priority system I can manage each day.

That being said I generally love the Omni products and use them everyday. I'm in the sneaky peak but can't seem to get my mind wrapped around some of the principles. I've watched Ethan's screencasts and understand it generally but I've got many projects and trying to figure out if I can manage them in OmniFocus. So a few specific questions.

1. Is there a way to just see the projects with a due date of "today" by project or folder? Maybe the problem is my paradigm but I manage many projects and several people. I need things pop up for me on future dates .. sometimes distantly future .. but I don't want to have to comb through the list every day. In iGTD I use the filter to sort that stuff down.If so ... how?

2. On a related note, is there a way to take todays projects and prioritize them similar to the iGTD 1-5 system?

3. Is there a web resource that discusses the filter ribbon in detail?

4. Is it too early to try and make this switch? Should I stick with iGTD longer?

In many ways OmniFocus appears to me a better application but I'm getting hung up on some of these items that I need every day.

Thanks for all of your help.

David

Choosing Due, Start, Completed, Added, or Changed from the second filter column will generate a "Today" section if any items match (and are not currently excluded by any of the other filter columns). You may need to click the disclosure triangle to see the items under the Today section header.

No 1-5 priorities at the moment (you could request them) I'm using a flag for any "priority" above 3 on a 1-5 scale. It may be that priority scales are not part of the canonical GTD style :-)

Ps

A PS

Don't forget that once you have got a view which suits your first early morning check, eg with the 5 filter columns reading

All Contexts + Start + Unsorted + All + Any

you can save it for reuse under the Perspectives item of the main menu.
