Custom Paper Size Grayed Out

I frequently create poster-sized diagrams (36" x 24"), so I defined a custom paper size. However, it's always grayed out in the drop-down list in Page Setup. If I go to Manage Custom Sizes I can select it there. Am I doing something wrong?
