Projects "On Hold"

So, I have several projects tagged "On Hold". I primarily use this for misc notes, cool websites to check out, and other tid-bits of info that I'm not interested in reviewing, just holding onto for future reference.

My question:
Is there a way to flag items marked "On Hold" as never appearing in a a weekly review? I think it would be nice to have the review option of "Review Every - never" instead of every week, month, etc. These are items I would love to have separated out of my daily workflow and reviews.

Anyone else do this? Any ideas? I realize this goes against traditional GTD, but I like keeping the info around for posterity.

Thanks!

I would try setting the first selector of the perspective you use for review to Active projects.

You could also create a folder and set it to Dropped with the contextual menu. Projects you drop in there will pretty much stay out of your way.

Thanks! Don't know why I didn't think about that!

I use the active filter on the view bar to always be seeing active projects.

When I do the weekly review, I group active projects review date, and review.

Then when I review my someday/maybe list.
I switch the projects filter to on hold.
And review the on hold project list.

In my day to day, I never see the on hold projects, because of the active projects filter.

I use two different review perspectives. One for active project reviews, where I'm making sure all the tasks are defined and sensible, and another for on-hold projects, where the question is just whether to activate the project. Here are the settings for those perspectives.

I make heavy use of the review intervals for both active and on-hold projects. On a daily basis, I review active projects due for review. Typically this just involves reviewing the 2 or 3 projects up for review today. My most important or fastest moving projects get a 1 day review interval, so I make sure those projects stay in motion. Other projects get review intervals as long as a month. In my weekly review I look at on-hold projects due for review within the next week. Some of my on-hold projects have review intervals as long as a year.
