P2P/Torrents

Alot of people use torrents to download larger files faster, however
first we have to download the torrent via a web browser then use some
P2P application such as Aquisition or Xtorrent, to download it. It
would be nice if OmniWeb had a nice P2P feature. With all the
features that aquisition and Xtorrent have. Making getting those
large files alot easier.

Opera's most "flamed" feature is built in torrent functionality. The torrent thing became so advanced that it would be nightmare to keep up with the rest of the crowd. They would end up with frustrated users who doesn't understand the torrent idea and go mad because their ISP banned them (yes, happening some areas).

I think the "official" Bittorrent client is small, lightweight and thanks to OS X architecture, it doesn't bother anything just by sitting in Applications folder. It would be just Drag Bittorrent.app to Applications, add it to Omniweb's "trusted" Applications list.

For more advanced stuff, Azureus or other clients exist.

I would much rather just double click the file and run it an Transmission.

I also tend to use dedicated (and better specialized) clients.
I don't really need P2P support in OW. An external app is just fine (the same way I usually would rather use Interarchy than OW for FTP).

Sad thing is, in ideal World Omni would use torrent to distribute their downloads and spend the spare money to other things.

Thanks to pirates, Torrent means "piracy" for majority of ISPs and Networks.

Id hate to have it intergrated, as then I'dhave to leave OW running 24x7, as opposed to just having a tiny app such as transmission running in the background..
