Java issue

Boy, I really seem like a squeeky wheel on these forums. Believe me, I LOVE OW...REALLY!

This problem is actually not only with OW but also with Safari. I downloaded the June 15th Java update and ever since then every page with Java crashes OW (and Safari). The console error looks like:
6/30/09 6:40:55 PM [0x0-0x167167].com.omnigroup.OmniWeb5[4602] exception = 0x00000006, crashedThreadStackPointer = 0xbfffbf0c, code = 0x00000002;0x00000000;

I reloaded the latest Java, restarted everything with the same results. Short of doing an archive and install or something as heroic would there be anything else you would suggest? HELP!

Mike (squeeky wheel)

Check which java plugins are being loaded in OmniWeb and disable them one by one to see if they are causing your problem.

Just so there's no question of whether the page matters, can you supply a URL for a page that will elicit a crash? And which versions of OW, Safari, and Mac OS X are you running?

Thanks! Did that and it was JavapluginCocoa.bundle.

This is the main one but there are others:

I live SW of Oklahoma Ciry and want to see which direction the storms are coming since there around ~30 scouts at our house building a parade float for the 4th (http://festival.tuttlechamber.org/).

OW version is latest SP 5.10 (err..latest since the crashy prone one). Tried 5.9.2 and did same thing...
Safari is 4.0.1

It was the June 15th Java update which triggered this...

Thanks SOO much for all your help...
OS 10.5.7

A couple of other things to add to this issue:
- for Safari it was the Java plugin as well
- I downloaded FF (I know...but I had to) and lo and behold the java plugin for the weather site above works just fine (albeit gawdaweful slow).
