Linkback annoyances

I realize that linkback is supposed to be a nifty time-saving feature, but I have wasted more time with it than I have saved. The problem is: how do you break the link?.

I use LaTeXit to make a large number of labels which are dropped into an OG window. I occasionally find it convenient to use linkback to edit a label in place. When I go to create the next label, the previous one is overwritten! This is very annoying, to say the least. How do I tell the app that I want to start anew?

Thanks.

I'd like to know the answer too, for exactly the same reason.

If no answer shows up here, I might ask on the Mac OS X TeX mailing list; someone there surely knows.

I would be satisfied if I could just turn off linkback, but I have found no way to do this. Google isn't any help, unfortunately.

Anyone?

The best I've found so far is cmd-w followed by cmd-n to close the LaTeXiT window and open a new one.

Thanks, that should work.

Chris,

I saw your posts in the OS X Tex forum and apparently the best solution is the one you suggested: closing and reopening the window (or just creating a new window, if you are not worried about window proliferation). I have been doing this and it works fine, but one would think there would be a better solution. Nobody seems to know how to turn off linkback.

Cheers,

Warren N
