The "@" symbol and how it correlates to OF/GTD

Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of implementing my life into OF. I've read GTD a couple of times and have got to the point of having everything processed and partially organized. I've got all my actions/projects into OF and am currently chewing over what to do about contexts, someday/maybe, and waiting for. I think I'm okay so far. But I have a question about the "@" symbol.

When DA uses "@" in GTD, it's more of a symbol used to keep the Actions, Waiting For, etc., folders at the top of an email client. I get that. But I'm seeing it on here that people are using it to mean contexts: @errands, @postoffice, etc. Does "@" stand for contexts on here or is it being used in a completely different way?

Thanks.

I think it's just being used to denote contexts in the forum. I don't actually prepend the "@" symbol on my context names in OmniFocus. But when I write about them here, I think it makes it easier to understand if they're written in the traditional GTD format.

No real need to prepend the @ in OmniFocus, given the context graphics have an @ in them already.

Th@t would be redund@nt. Or should I say th@at would be redunda@nt :-)

Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks for the answers.

Just to add a UK 2 pence: I'm not currently using OF yet (boo!) but am thinking about it (yay!). In my (unnamed) rival system I use "@" for tags, which are roughly the same as contexts (@Home, @Work, @Out & @Partner), but this really came about from yet another system I used which took advantage of the fact that the "@" symbol is prominent when arranged alphabetically. I also used prefixes of "_" and "-" in that system for the same reason.

With OF, you probably don't need to do it, but if, like me, you are used to and comfortable with it, then it will continue to work for you.
