Singleton Task Status
 

Setting the status of one Singleton Task to On Hold sets the entire group (Singleton Tasks) to On Hold. This doesn't seem right.

You cannot set actions, including single actions, to On Hold. On Hold is a property of a project (including a list of single actions). So when you have a single action selected and you use the Inspector to choose On Hold, you're setting the [U]project[/U] to On Hold. It's one of the choices in the Project Inspector, not the Action Inspector.

There's been a discussion of how to put single actions on hold. Some people move their On Hold single actions to a blocked context. Others enter a start date in the future (perhaps their next review date for single actions). If it's a feature you would like, send feedback to Omni.

You might be led to believe from brian's answer that this is considered "correct behavior" by many people, so I'll chime in to note that I agree this is in fact absurd behavior, and a side effect of an implementation detail for handling single actions.

Ideally, "single actions" would be treated exactly the same way as projects (as they conceptually are), with grouping options to handle the "too many 'projects'" issues some have raised.

Omni has indicated they will revisit this implementation in the future, but no word on how it will be resolved. Definitely send in your feedback.
