Hiding projects with no available actions?

I've gone through the forums on this, but is there a way to keep projects which do not have available actions from showing in a perspective? A way other than setting a start date for the projects?

Right now, I have five projects filled with actions which have starting dates set for the next few days -- a few tomorrow, others at the end of the week -- but with the Availablity Filter set to available the projects are showing up as available despite being un-actionable.

To put it in programming terms: shouldn't a parent object (a Project) be affected by the action status of it's child object (an Action) so if there are no available child objects, the parent will also hide?

I think what you want is a way in project mode to select Active && !Stalled in the sidebar filter, to use C parlance. Unfortunately, as you've noticed, there isn't such an option. You can use Rob Trew's Where in OF script to generate a view containing only projects meeting that condition. See this thread for some discussion.

Have you tried using the grouped by project view in context mode? It's like working out of project mode, but projects won't show up if they don't have any available actions.

@Lucas An interesting idea, but I'm currently grouping by Due date might try this in the future.

@Whpalmer4 Where In OF looks interesting, I'll toy around with it sometime soon.
