Shift Deselect in OmniFocus
 

If I start with my focus on one item, then hold shift and move down or up with the arrow keys to select multiple items, but go too far, and I go back (up, or down) to deselect, OmniFocus believes that rather than moving the 'end' of the selection, it should expand the beginning of the selection.

This drives me up the wall -- is there any way to change that behaviour?

Sounds like 'No'.
