Context Mode Button Stopped Working

The menu bar button for context mode is no longer working for me. When click on it the side bar looks exactly like in project mode. Context mode will work from the view menu.

Here's what I've tried:

Tossing the preferences and restarting.
Tossing OF using App Zapper and starting fresh with the latest version. When I did this the context mode button was working again until I synched my iphone. When I did my files all showed up, but the context button stopped working again.

I'm hoping to get this fixed without having to retype in all my data.

It sounds like you might have inadvertently edited the Contexts perspective. Go to Perspectives->Show Perspectives, click on the icon for your Contexts perspective, and make sure the View Mode is set to Context, not Project. The factory settings look like this:

That was exactly it. Last time I'd been using OF I'd been trying to get the hang of perspectives.

Looks like I need to read up or video up a bit more. Any suggestions on best place to do so?

Thanks much

Unfortunately, the forum is probably your best bet at the moment -- new features are coming out at a higher rate than polished documentation for those features, though maybe the documentation people are about to drop some goodies in our laps and we just don't know about it yet.

Specific questions usually get answered pretty quickly here, so long as the answer doesn't require knowledge that only an Omni employee would have. A bit of feedback with Help->Send Feedback or email to omnifocus@omnigroup.com asking for more up-to-date documentation and videos wouldn't be a bad idea, either. The release notes are compactly written, but contain a lot of information, and I refer to them periodically, often learning something new on each reading.
