Repeating intra-day tasks
Can somebody help me on the issue:
I've got some tasks during a day that I have to "always" do. i.e.: checking emails, verifying updating information in a system, etc. Let's say I do them them within 5 min repeatedly every hour (could be postponed). How can I implement it in omnifocus? Simply not checking a task (check mail) off doesn't work well, because the task will be hanging in my task list all the day and making me feel that I've not done something. |
It sounds like setting a start time might help.
So for example, you have a task called "check email". Set its start time to 8:55 and its due time to 9:00. Until 8:55, it will be gray and unavailable. At 8:55, it will become orange and due soon. (Most people I know, myself included, have more problems checking email too often than forgetting to check it!) |
But there doesn't seem to be a way to set a task that repeats every hour on the hour. I have a few cases where I have tasks that I need to repeat within a day and the only workaround it so make a duplicate of the task and set each duplicate to have a start time that is one hour later than the one before it. Or actually I set a project to repeat daily with the tasks individually set with start times on the hour but it's cumbersome to set up and hard to modify if I need to change all the tasks to now be done say on the half hour.
This is yet another example of needing more robust repeating options in OF. |
