Viewing parent actions/groups?

I'm trying out OmniFocus to see if it will work for me. Very promising.

This may be a dumb question, but... I'm using plenty of "outlining" to organize my tasks -- Folders, groups, actions. But when I'm viewing by CONTEXT, some of my actions are pretty cryptic -- without the additional info provided by the parent group, it's hard to know what the action refers to. Any way to get a full "path" worth of info -- including all parent groups?

Thanks!

You can group by Project in Context mode to see some of that information, but not all of it.

One of my favorite tricks is to double-click the "handle" of an item in Context mode. That will open a new window focused on the project containing the item. That's great for seeing the item in the context of its project and for adding actions to a project.

Another tip is to write your actions as if you were delegating to someone. E.g., "Send email to Fred regarding his late TPS reports" rather than "Email Fred". This helps me overcome inertia and get started on tasks. This also has the pleasant side effect of making actions clearer on their own.

Thanks very much, Curt! I'll play around with our suggestions. =)

Oops--I meant, of course, I'll play around with *your* suggestions.
