Changing new window settings?
Is it possible to change the settings for new windows? I don't like the size of the default new window, but unlike Safari new windows don't spawn in the size and position that I last used. Is there a hidden preference I can tweak perhaps?

Set the window to the size you like; Window menu "Save Window Size"! Mark |
Thanks! Figures that it would be something easy that I'd missed. :)

Mark
I have done this several times but it simply doesn't work. Each time I launch OmniWeb, it returns to the default window size. |
Have you saved a snapshot of your workspace while using the old window size? If so, restore your snapshot, size the window as you would like then take the snapshot again.

I have never taken a snapshot. Now I have and it works. Thank you very much for your hint. But now I'm somehow puzzled, I thougt "Save Window Size" is setting the window size? Mike |
Save Window Size will (or should!) save the size for new windows. If you use the Workspace/snapshot feature, the windows are not "new" in the sense that they are restorations of the state of the windows when the snapshot was taken. For example, if you had a window minimised in the Dock when you took the snapshot, it will be restored to that state when the snapshot is restored.
If the Save Window Size option isn't working still (that is, if you create new windows in addition to the one(s) restored by the snapshot, do they adopt the size you have saved or not?), I suggest you try nuking your prefs for OmniWeb and starting over. Other aspects that will be remembered by a snapshot: 1. The size of the tab drawer and its location 2. All open windows and their size and position on the screen 3. The tabs open at the time |
