Repeat Tasks for Simple Chores

I'm trying to get repeating tasks to work like I would prefer, but I'm having some trouble.

First, I'm about 2 weeks into using the alpha, so I'm not far along the learning curve. I have searched the forums, but I'm still not where I'd like to be. Specifically, I read this thread (and others that I don't have a readily available link for) that is somewhat on point:

http://forums.omnigroup.com/showthread.php?t=3782&highlight=repeat

All I want to do is make a task series of chores around the house that repeat with some frequency (usually a week). I set the start date and then repeat 1 week from completion, but the next one appears immediately when I complete the current one. I'd prefer that it stays hidden until I actually need to do it.

I've read descriptions where people describe the behavior I want, but I must be missing something.

I appreciate the help, and keep up the good work with OF.

You will or wont see the new task depending on how you've set your View bar filters. If you checked off this week's chore in Context View with only Next or Available, not Remaining, showing, the new task should not appear. If you checked it off in Project View, chances are you had All or Remaining showing.

That works, but all of my non-project tasks disappear with either Available or Next as the filtering option. I'll search and see what I can find for having those single actions show up as next actions.

Thanks for the help, and please let me know if you know of a quick fix for the single actions.

Sorry about that; that's not the intended behavior, and we'll be fixing it soon (with the introduction of a default "quick list" where actions are assigned when they don't belong to a project).

Good to know. I just got in to the alpha a couple weeks ago, so I'm still getting a feel for recognizing difficulty as being from either my limited knowledge or the parts which are being worked on.

Thanks!
