Powerpoint woes

This is more a Powerpoint problem than an OG one, I think, but here is my problem. I want to use OG images in my Powerpoint presentation. Whatever I do, I get bitmaps in Powerpoint and depending on how I do them they are low-quality/low resolution. The only way to get acceptable results so far is export to JPEG at the highest resolution and lowest quality.

But what I really want is some sort of vector image in Powerpoint.

I tried exporting via Keynote, but I get the same low resolution bitmap.

Can this somehow be solved?

Thanks,

OK, I've just tried exporting an OG file as a vector eps and importing it into ppt. No problems - or at least not when scaling it up 200% or so - no jaggies here (this was tested in OGPro and PPT2k4 using a greyscale image made from "radial filled" circles).

What versions of OG and PPT are you using?
What are you exporting as?

you know what would be really cool? if OG supported ppt export the same way conceptdraw does. that would be amazing!

oh and OG fixing the vdx masters (backgrounds) export.

right now i am using a trial version of CD to import vdx and export ppt. it works pretty good but once the trial is over i'll be stuck.

What would be better would be for MS to fix their crap software so that it supports standard file formats properly...

plexus, how does ConceptDraw handle it?

1. Get OmniGraffle 4.

2. Edit Menu --> Copy As submenu

3. Select "Vector PICT"

4. Paste into PowerPoint

The problem is PowerPoint on Windows

I forgot to tell, I need to use the presentation on Windows.

PICT only works well on the Mac where it is supported internally. Move the presentation to Windows and it looks terrible.

The same goes for EPS which only prints well on PostScript printers on Windows and where the preview picture is a bitmap or PICT and both look terrible.
